Challenge and achievement

Competitions

For students who enjoy a hard problem. Competitions will bring mathematical contests, ongoing challenges, and recognised achievements together in one place.

Why it matters

Why competition mathematics matters

Competition problems ask students to think in ways a textbook rarely does: to explore, to persist through uncertainty, and to explain an argument so that someone else is convinced.

Competitions

Organised contests with clear rules, fair conditions, and problems written to reward insight.

Challenges

Regular problem sets students can attempt at their own pace, at school or at home.

Achievements

Recognition that celebrates growth and persistence as well as top results.

Our heritage

The Arf League

AhMath Competitions builds on the Arf League, our historical mathematics competition program. We are preparing an archive of the program's history so that past participants, schools, and new students can see where AhMath Competitions comes from.

The Arf League archive is in preparation and will be published here.
